Volunteer Marine Rescue Southport ( VMR ) is the only 24 hour / 7 day Marine Rescue Squadron in the Gold Coast area. The members of this Organisation contribute approximately 70,000 unpaid man hours annually.
VMR Southport members are very active in fundraising and attend Boatshows and community events, sell raffle tickets in shopping centres and tin rattle seeking donations in pubs and clubs. Operating expense of this Organisation exceed $400,000 per annum.
The members of VMR Southport are very proud of their Organisation and the benefit it provides to the community.
